TES in CSP – 1 ECTS

Detail:This lesson presents the main concepts related to the use of Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) as a mean to generate electricity from a renewable source of energy such as thermal solar energy. The lessons starts by explaining the different CSP configurations, followed by a detailed introduction to the use of thermal energy storage (TES) systems in CSP plants, and a review paper on scientific studies available in the literature. The main commercial CSP plants available in the world are also described throughout the lesson.
