Micro & Nano-scale modelling on TES materials – 1 ECTS

Detail: This lesson is designed to introduce micro and nanoscale modeling in general and explain kinetic theory for ideal gases. The lesson serves as background knowledge to further lessons on the micro and nanoscale modelling of TES materials. The concept of multiscale modelling, density functional theory, force field parameterization, statistical mechanics and kinetic theory are explained. The intermolecular interactions for fluids and solids are also explained.
